Innovations in Dual Swing-Out Latch Design

It’s said that innovation comes out of great human ingenuity and passion. It is this passion and ingenuity that has cultivated a need to change the game once again in an industry we love so much.

Our latest break-through design shatters industry standards for what you should come to expect with swing-out arm designs and provides a new, intuitive way to hold and access your vehicle equipment out on the trails. Years in development and prototyping finally gave us the product we we’re desperately looking for and has now provided a product flexible enough for almost any vehicle platform on the off-road market today.

A latch system that allows for rattle-free, secure use while maintaining the same tough standards you come to expect from Expedition One bumpers. The all-steel design is comprised of 3/16″ and 1/4″ inner structure with a 3/16″ beefy outer skin to take all the abuse you can throw at it out on the trails. Our custom locking-latch hook firmly holds into place when its clamped down via the spring-loaded grab handle.

All of this is incorporated with our Smooth Motion Tire Carrier arm system providing smooth swing-out of the arms even with lots of weight from tire/gear. Our beefy spindles and bearings help off-set the weight and beating our customers put on their off-road rigs to keep them focused on the next adventure.

with the conclusion of the industry-first latch design for the 5th Gen 4Runner, we’re now able to transfer this design over to the Toyota Tundra/Tacoma platforms for release later this summer and then on to the other vehicle markets. The feedback and demand has already surged over the past month as we’ve hit some of the big expos, giving people the opportunity to see and try the design themselves.
